PID APPLICATION NOTES:
The housing consists of a Square or Rectangular FR4 or Aluminum hollow package filled with a measured number of Tungsten spheres. The PID is normally mounted near the geometric center of the PCB board or nearest the location where the PCB has the most vibrational movement. The PID can be mounted on either the top or bottom side of the PCB. Either one PID or multiple PIDs can be distributed around the PCB. The prefered method of mounting the PID is with glue, adhesive or epoxy. Optionally, the PID can be mounted with screws.

A small screw on the top or side of the housing allows tungsten balls to be added or removed. The payload of tungsten balls is determined while observing vibration damping (attenuation). Typically, the mass of the Tungsten (W) particles (balls) is approximately 10% of the total mass of the PCB with components. A final design can be fabricated for volume production after optimizing the system.
